Here is a brand new interview with a Navy Member in preparation for the Inauguration:

  1. What was the preparation like for the Inauguration physically? Is there mental training as well to keep you psychologically in balance? What was your favorite part of the full event?

Preparation for it was making sure our uniforms were ready and looking sharp, making adjustments and fixes where needed. Getting the marching down right with making sure everybody is in alignment and in step with the beat of the drum. Knowing that we would have to be standing out in the cold for a long time, just mentally preparing yourself for the discomfort of staying at a position in 17 degrees Fahrenheit. Favorite part of the full event was having the whole command come as a whole and March the streets of DC with out rehearsals.

  2. Do you have a favorite memory/experience  or story having to work near the white house?

Favorite memory was going to the Jefferson memorial for the first time. As we were on the stairs we could look out into the distance and see the White House. It's something you only see in movies but being that close and seeing it in the flesh was a very exciting moment.

    3. Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?

New Year's resolution is to trust God more and to stop feeling worried and simply lean on Him when in need. Also to learn to show up fully and authentically as myself.

    4. What’s your message for the incoming Navy members?

Message for incoming Navy members:. Have a strong work ethic and always be authentically yourself. Have a strong prayer life.
